Community Matters is a Family Affair at New Dimensions FCU

At New Dimensions FCU we take philanthropy very seriously and know that to be a good community neighbor, we must go beyond the normal and expected to ensure the health and prosperity of our members—and the communities in which we live. To achieve this, we participate in several fundraising events such as our annual Harvest Fest, the MCCP Walk, Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show, several bake sales, and regular soup days in the winter. This has enabled us to contribute thousands of dollars to our Ending Hunger in Maine campaign, Maine Special Olympics, and The Maine Children’s Cancer Program (MCCP).

Similarly, NDFCU has a Community Sponsorship Program, in which our donations go to various organizations who work to bring area businesses together to assist those in our community with basic needs such as food, shelter, and heating assistance—as the old saying goes, “It takes a village”! During the holiday season, we participate by having an “Angel” tree and food drive for those families who need help the most. In December 2016, we were honored to help six families with food and Christmas gifts for their children. Taking care of our community is not only necessary but also a wonderful way for people to help people!

Together we raised more than $35,275 toward our goal to help people in need and we are proud to announce that our 2016 efforts resulted in NDFCU recording our best year yet! It goes without saying that the New Dimensions FCU fundraising achievements are a direct reflection of the generosity of our members and it would also not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers.
