Same-Day ACH Processing
On September 15, 2017, the Federal Reserve will start processing same-day ACH debits. This means if you make a payment to a merchant by ACH or via a check that is converted to ACH and, depending on the time of the day it is submitted, the funds could be withdrawn from your account before close of business the same day.
NDFCU encourages our members to be sure you have sufficient funds in your account before paying any merchant via ACH or in check form that is converted to ACH. This will ensure you are not assessed an overdraft fee.
What does ACH mean?
ACH payments are electronic payments made through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network. To set-up an ACH payment, you must provide a merchant or a company with your New Dimensions Federal Credit Union routing number (211288860) and your account number. The merchant or company will generate an electronic transaction that will be sent to NDFCU for processing. NDFCU will debit your account for the ACH amount and send it electronically to the requesting merchant or company. It is important to note that a debit card transaction or a transaction using just your debit card number IS NOT considered an ACH transaction. Additionally, ACH credits can be a direct deposit of your payroll or an automatic transfer into your checking from another financial institution.
