Our Mission Statement: Enhancing the financial well-being of our members and the communities we serve.
Our story began in 1956. We started in the basement of Earl Rancourt and back then, we were known as Notre Dame Waterville Federal Credit Union. Our mission was simple – to provide excellent financial services to members of Notre Dame Church in Waterville. Our charter included members of the parish of Notre Dame Church, and on August 27, 1956, we moved and began operating out of a corridor at the Notre Dame School on Water Street.
Fast forward to the present day, and operating under a new name, New Dimensions Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative located in Waterville, Winslow, and Skowhegan. We service four counties: Kennebec, Somerset, Franklin, and Waldo, and are committed to providing relevant, solution-based products and services that enhance the financial well-being of our members. New Dimensions has thrived as a family-oriented credit union that consistently delivers to the community with expert financial resources from establishing credit to purchasing your first car, first home, or saving for retirement; we have the right solution for you.
We have been a financial partner for over 68 years, and we continue to educate our members by offering expert financial resources and solutions. We empower members and remain true to our family-oriented, community-driven values, and we evolve by navigating the digital landscape, offering innovative options and services. We are a financially solid and secure credit union founded on trust and reliability, and we honor that commitment with growing strength and agility. Working together, we can build a solid financial foundation that will lead to financial security to help fulfill our members’ dreams and goals while living their best lives.
“Not For Profit, not for Charity, but for Service” – Elmer L. Bloom
A credit union is a co-operative financial institution owned and run by its members, who pool their funds in order to make affordable loans to each other. Its purpose isn’t to donate charity to the needy, but to help all sorts of people help themselves. Unlike a bank, a credit union is not run for profit, but as a service to the community.
