Supporting a Future Ready Student: Meet Our 2026 Scholarship Recipient

At New Dimensions Federal Credit Union, we believe education is one of the most meaningful investments a person can make in their future. Every year, our Future Ready Scholarship program gives us the opportunity to recognize students who demonstrate hard work, initiative, leadership, and a commitment to making a difference in their communities.

This year, we are proud to announce that Annabelle Hanscom of Messalonskee High School has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 NDFCU Future Ready Scholarship.

After reviewing several impressive applications, Annabelle stood out for her academic achievements, volunteer efforts, references, essay responses, and overall dedication throughout the application process. One detail that especially caught the committee’s attention was her decision to submit a video essay — something no other applicant chose to do. Her creativity, confidence, and initiative helped showcase not only her accomplishments but also her passion for her future goals.

Annabelle will receive a $5,000 scholarship, distributed across the Fall and Spring semesters, as she begins her next chapter at the University of Maine at Farmington, pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education.

Watching Annabelle speak about her goals and aspirations served as a reminder of why programs like this matter so much. Today’s students are navigating a world filled with rising costs, financial pressures, and important life decisions at an earlier age than ever before. Supporting education is about more than helping with tuition — it’s about encouraging confidence, ambition, and opportunity.

As a credit union founded on the philosophy of “People Helping People,” we are honored to support students like Annabelle as they work toward building meaningful futures for themselves and their communities.

Congratulations, Annabelle! We are excited to see all that you accomplish in the years ahead.
